Cutting a thread into an existing pipe

Tapping into a live water pipe normally means draining it, cutting a section out and rebuilding the run. This tool takes the other route: it opens and rethreads the inner hole of a pipe in place, so you can add a branch or repair a damaged thread without dismantling the plumbing around it.

Internal and external, in one tool

The cutter handles internal and external threads on both 4-point and 6-point pipe, two of the commonest sizes in domestic water plumbing. The integrated design keeps it to a single tool rather than a collection of separate taps, which is often the difference between a job you can do in place and one that needs the pipe stripped out.
