What it does

• 360° lantern light. 64 LED beads behind a frosted globe, rated up to 1,000 lumens, so light reaches the walls of a tent or the far end of a table instead of one hotspot.
• Three modes, stepless dimming. A short press cycles the modes; a long press fades the brightness up or down rather than stepping between fixed levels.
• Top flashlight. A separate lens in the cap gives a focused beam with high, low and strobe settings — point it at the task while the lantern keeps the area lit.
• Red SOS beacon. The red zone on the cap flashes SOS or a steady emergency strobe. That is the part that matters on a hard shoulder or in a blackout.
• Carry it or hang it. The rubberised handle sits in the hand, and the folding hook on the side hangs it from a tent loop, a branch or a hook.
• Runs on D cells. Three D-cell batteries (not included). No charger, no cable, and spare batteries are on the shelf at any hardware store.
